A delightful, unusual and well modelled Staffordshire spill vase depicting a zebra pursued over a stream by a fox.
The zebra’s front left leg is independently modelled, as are the head and neck of the fox. The dramatic scene takes place over a river and bridge which are modelled into the naturalistic base.
The figure is beautifully coloured and the zebra’s stripes are clear and natural. It is in good condition - the only flaw being that the fox’s left ear (improperly modelled at production) has some superficial nibbles.
