Theatrical Performer (Dudson Factory)

£100.00

A delightful and very well modelled figure of a theatrical performer standing a white rococo base with gilt highlights. She wears a brimmed hat, puff-sleeved bodice, patterned skirt, and breeches. She holds a black mask in her left hand, and her right is on her hip.

The figure is very nicely made with a simple colour palette and tasteful gilding typical of the Dudson Factory to which this figure is likely attributed.

The figure is in very good condition. There is a firing flaw around the base of the column but otherwise the figure is excellent with no obvious restoration (though I do not explicitly rule out professional restoration).

The figure has a pair which (at the time of listing) is also available from this website, but it is decorated in full, bright Dudson colours so is being sold separately. The Hardings record the pair as being 6” high, but the versions available here are 7.5”. I include a photo of the two figures together for illustrative purposes.
