A fabulous arbour group depicting a man and woman embracing while another man looks on. The figure’s title - ‘RIVAL’ - is written in black raised serif capitals on the base.
Several versions of this figure (at least seven) have been recorded. This one is the most common. It is thought that the figure relates to the R. B. Sheridan comedy The Rival, though it may simply be a melodramatic reinterpretation.
This figure is in excellent original condition - a very good, clean example.
