The Princess Royal & Prince Frederick III of Prussia

£175.00

A large and attractive titled figure depicting the Princess Royal and Prince Frederick III of Prussia. This figure was most likely made to celebrate and commemorate and celebrate their marriage in 1858.

The prince wears a military uniform with epaulettes and a sash, and the princess, holding a bad, wears a cobalt blue tunic and a long, floral-patterned skirt.

The figure is titled in capitalised gilt serif letters: ‘PRINCESS ROYAL & FRK OF PRUSSIA’.

The figure is in lovely original condition. There is a small manufacturing chip to the base which is under the slip and glaze. There is some light flaking to the prince’s hair and a large, single flake to the princess’ hair. The base is slightly uneven so the figure rocks a little, but this is a manufacturing quirk.
