A figure depicting Admiral Horatio Nelson at the time of his death, supported by two officers.
This figure was produced in a variety of different styles, sometimes titled and - rarely - with a faint impression of the HMS Victory on the reverse. This figure is simply but cleanly presented with cobalt jackets and underglaze black hats and boots (although, interestingly, the hair of officers has been decorated with overglaze black creating a contrast with the underglaze hats.
The figure is offered in excellent original condition with no damage. Some flakes to the hair of the officer on Nelson’s left (viewer’s right) have been retouched (and some small flakes to the other officer’s hair have been left as found). Much of the gilt (highlighting belts, buttons, etc.) has faded.

Height: 7.75”
Date: c. 1840s
