A truly superb and imposing figure of exceptional quality depicting a blind harpist.
The harpist sits cross legged with his cane at his feet. A faithful dog has his front paws on the harpists lap. The harpist plays a large harp decorated with lion’s heads which is balanced on a white rocky structure.
This figure is astonishingly crisply modelled and precisely decorated - a really beautiful work. The figure boasts wonderful depth and texture in the harpist’s face, his clothing, the rocky base, the dog’s fur, the harp’s strings, and the lions’ manes. As finely produced a figure as you are likely to find.
It is offered in superb original condition with no damage or restoration - only a little patch of discolouration on the front of the base.
