A lovely little Staffordshire figure depicting Jesus Christ. He wears flowing white robes with gilt highlights. He holds His left hand across His heart and rests His right hand on a column.
This small figure is nicely modelled given its size and has a thick, syrupy glaze. It is in good condition but for a very small superficial nibble to Christ’s hair which resembles enamel flaking.
While the figure is simple, it is a rare and unusual miniature with plenty of character.
