A very handsome figure depicting the great English playwright Sir William Shakespeare.
Shakespeare leans against an ornate column topped with a stack of books. He holds a manuscript in his left hand. He stands, cross-legged, on an ornate, gilded, magenta-topped base.
This is a figure of lovely quality - one of the finer Shakespeare figures of this kind.
The is offered in fair restored condition. There is proficient restoration of the right hand, and to the thumb of the left hand. There is a proficient repair across the neck. The quality of restoration is reasonable and reasonably discreet, though the right hand should be pointing and thumb is not strictly in proportion, as is clear from the accompanying images. There is a firing flaw in the crook of the right arm. Nevertheless, the figure displays very nicely.
