Sailor and Girl

£115.00

A fabulous figure depicting a sailor with his arm around a woman, made at the time of the Crimean War.

The sailor wears a striped sailor’s shirt, cobalt jacket, and orange necktie. He holds a cap to his head, as though blown by the wind. His girl wears a cobalt jacket, patterned skirt, and a large pink shawl. They are modelled atop a naturalistic base.

This is a lovely presentation of this figure, which is often found sparsely coloured. It is beautifully composed rich textures.

It is offered in very good condition with no damage or loss. Some small flakes to the black enamel have been very discreetly retouched, and there are some sparse flakes to the girl’s skirt.
