A very rare porcelaneous figure depicting a bearded man carrying a sack over his shoulder and a hat in his other hand - possibly a peddler or itinerant salesman, generally referred to as a ‘hat seller’.
The source of this figure has never been conclusively identified, but it may have a theatrical or literary origin.
This quality figure is striking and well decorated, carrying great presence and character.
The figure is in good condition but for a small nick to the rim of the hat and some wear to the rim of the base.
