Playful Dog Quill Holder

£50.00

A very sweet quill holder decorated with a playful dog.

The dog - perhaps a spaniel or terrier - is on all fours with front legs bent and tail raised as though in play. Behind the dog is a simple quill holder, and the scene is set on a cobalt blue ‘cushion-like’ base with a gilt trim.

The figure is well modelled with lovely textures on the dog’s coat and creases of the pillow. There is, however, an old and pronounced hairline crack to the quill holder itself which may have been amateurly reinforced. There are also some firing flaw hairlines to the dog’s back. Fortunately, when viewed squarely from the front these defects are not particularly noticeable. Close-ups of this flaws and the large crack are included in the images.
