A delightful and beautifully made figure of excellent quality depicting a piper sitting next to a dog.
The scene is delicately composed with several individually modelled components and lots of detail. The scene is modelled atop an ornate ‘cut-out’ rococo style base and framed with bocage leaves in the style of earlier figures. This figure is likely based on earlier porcelain figures, including those made outside Staffordshire, and it perfectly captures the high decorative value and careful construction of early figures.
The figure is in excellent condition with no apparent damage or loss.
