PENDING - Eugénie, Empress of France, and the Infant Prince Imperial
Am impressive figure depicting Eugénie, Empress of the French, sitting on a high-backed cushioned throne with the infant Prince Imperial in her arms. The figure would have been produced shortly after the Prince’s birth.
The Empress wears a flowing white and gilt dress and sash. The Prince wears a simple child’s tunic and holds a flower garland in his left hand. The throne is lined with gilt and seems to be cushioned with gilt-buttoned fabric. The French eagle is modelled as a finial atop of the throne. The title of the figure - ‘EMPRESS OF FRANCE’ - is written in raised gilt capitals on a plaque on the base.
The figure displays beautiful with a simple white and gilt colour scheme with naturalistic colours in the faces, limbs, and hair of the figures.
The figure is in lovely condition. The neck of the Prince Imperial has been repaired and the repair has been concealed. The repair is reasonably subtle when on display. There is some light flaking to some of the darker features. There are some modest firing flaws in places.

Height: 12.5”
