King William III

£80.00

An unusual, small, untitled equestrian figure depicting King William III.

The King, mounted on a prancing horse, wears a cobalt tunic, orange scarf, tartan sash, and plumed hat. He holds the horse’s rein in his left hand. A sword hangs by his left side, and in his right hand he holds a scroll.

The figure displays nicely and is well coloured. The King’s nose is worn and there is a small chip to the corner of the plumed hat, as well as some pitting and scuffs to the body of the hat. The glaze over the cobalt blue is heavily pitted and pockmarked. suggesting an error during manufacture. There is some wear and scuffing to the bottom edge of the base including some nibbles.
