A charming and rare Staffordshire holy water stoup figure depicting Jesus Christ.
Christ, wearing a white robe generously decorated with gilt, stands with his left hand on his heart. Beneath him is a shell-shaped bucket-style stoup.
This figure is nicely and simply decorated. It is in good condition but for two small superficial chips to the rubs of stoup. The figure is fairly heavily crazed.
