A rare and very impressive figure depicting a seated dog, generally said to be an Irish setter, attributed to the Thomas Parr Factory.
This fabulous dog is of substantial scale and extremely well modelled with superb depth and textures and a striking rococo base typical of 1850s Parr figures.
The dog is in good condition with a stable hairline across the independently modelled leg, which is reasonable subtle. There is some flaking and a firing flaw across the bottom of the base.
NOTE: The pair to this figure is also available (see the final image) but is in damaged, as found condition. It is broken across the middle and reglued. If you are interested in buying the full pair for a nominal extra cost, please email me at sales@rowancottageantiques.com.
