Girl Riding a Spaniel

£65.00

A very sweet and unusual porcelaneous figure depicting a young girl sitting side-saddle on the back of an oversized russet and white spaniel.

The girl wears a white dress trimmed with orange, pink-trimmed bloomers, red shoes, and a plumed hat. Her right hand is placed on her knee and her left is around the neck of the spaniel who wears a gilt collar. The scene is modelled an ornately textured white base.

The figure is lovely original condition with no loss. There are two old, stable, superficial hairlines across the front of the dog’s hindleg paws - scarcely noticeable - and a degree of discolouration or debris visible on the base. Some of the orange features of the girl’s dress have discoloured, probably as a result of improper firing.
