A fabulous and rare figure depicting an adult dog and small puppy by a kennel.
The black and white adult dog, its hindquarters in the kennel, lies with its front paws outstretched while grooming a small black and white puppy. The kennel is decorated as a miniature house completely with ornamental door, window, slate roof, and chimney. The chimney may function as a quill or pen holder though it is not clear if this is the intention. The scene is modelled on an irregularly shaped base topped with green to illustrate a grass lawn.
This figure is beautifully modelled with great care taken over the dog’s neck and head, and the finer details of the kennel.
This utterly charming figure is in very good condition with no damage or loss. There is flaking to the overglaze black spots of both adult dog and puppy, as well as to the orange chimney, and some of the gild had faded.
