A charming figure depicting a gentleman and lady standing together under an umbrella.
This is one of a number of figures depicting couples under umbrellas. Some seem to be theatrical in nature and others have been identified as Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, though the characters in this figure bear no resemblance to the royal couple.
This charming and nicely decorated figure is full of charm and character. The lady’s right arm and the gentleman’s right left are independently modelled, as is the umbrella.
The figure is in good restored condition. There is professional restoration to the front of the umbrella and a small chip to one of its corners.
