A large and imposing titled Staffordshire figure depicting the English Catholic prelate, Henry Edward Manning (1808-1892). Manning served as the second Archbishop of Westminster from 1865 until his death.
The figure pairs with Pope Pius IX (not offered here).
There is a shallow but wide chip to the Cardinal’s elbow, as shown in the images, and there is some fading to some of the gilt features on the Cardinal’s jacket. These defects are not particularly noticeable when the figure is displayed.
