A beautiful early 19th century creamware scalloped plate with a hand-painted chinoiserie scene of a pagoda in brown inside a circular ochre band and a feathered brown border.
This rare plate was made in Yorkshire - possibly by the Don Pottery in Swinton.
The plate displays very well but has a small chip at about two o’clock. There are some other very small nibbles and some old nibbles which have been filled.
Diameter: 9.5”
Date: c. 1810
