A charming small Staffordshire pottery nursery plate, possibly attributable to Bailey & Ball of Longton, with ornate borders, green bands, and a lightly coloured transfer depicting Robinson Crusoe.
The transfer title - ‘ROBINSON CRUSOE’ - sits above the image.
The plate is in good condition. The transfer has been imperfectly applied so some of the image - particularly the title - is lost of lacks clarity. Wear has led to some rubbing and discolouration of the moulded pattern on the inside of the border. There may be some additional wear around the rim causing putting, but no chips or damage.
Diameter: 6.25”
Date: c. 1847
