SOLD - Royal Worcester Ewer, Blush Ivory (c. 1913)
A very handsome Royal Worcester ewer with an iconic Blush Ivory design.
The body of this elegant ewer is decorated with rich floral sprigs below an embossed ornamental border. The handle and collar are heavily gilded, as is the base.
The ewer is presented in generally good condition. The base has been restored where it joins the main body and there is a tell-tale stroke of paint where the break has been concealed, but ultimately the restoration has been handled reasonably sensitively. There are some pale, discreet dark smudges set over the glaze, seemingly where dust and grime accumulated, and there is a light loss of gilt over the embossed architectural details beneath and above the gilt collar.
Height to top of body: 7”
Height to top of handle: 8.25”
Year: 1913
