A stunning First Period Worcester porcelain slop bowl decorated with hand-painted enamel and transfer landscape and architectural scenes.
The bowl features three different waterside scenes with ruins, boats, buildings, and people. The inside of the bowl features a neoclassical-style architectural scene.
The bowl has superb provenance having been part of two prestigious collections and stock of a noted Kensington antique dealership.
This very rare bowl is offered in good repaired condition. A three-piece break has been professionally repaired and concealed (though it is not entirely invisible). There is some wear and scratching commensurate with age, and some small areas of fritting. A wonderful example.
Height: 2.75”
Diameter: 6”
Date: c. 1765
Provenance: The Guy-Jones Collection; The Gunter Collection; ex stock of Stockspring Antiques, London
