A very attractive early canary yellow ground jug with silver resist lustre decoration. The jug is probably English, or possibly Welsh, and dates to the early 19th century.
The rich canary yellow ground is decorated with a foliate pattern and bunches of grapes.
The jug is in generally good condition. There is some light wear, commensurate with age, and only a very few small scratches to the body. The pattern has survived very well with no significant loss to the silver lustre on the body. There is some more extensive wear to the rim and edge of the handle and one very small chip to the spout. Aside from the chip, the jug is, as a whole, in very good condition for its age. A fabulous, rare find at this level of quality.
